WHAT IS A SCREEN SHOT:
How do I take a screen shot for a Digital Proof?
Please Note: Only the following image formats are viewable on the web/internet: JPG, JPEG, GIF, and PNG. Therefore, if you upload any other kind of image it will not be acceptable or viewable by Third String.
ON A PC (Windows XP or 2000) Pressing the Print Screen key captures a screenshot of the entire desktop area, and places it in the clipboard. Pressing the combination of Alt-Print Screen captures only the current active window. By default, Windows does not save the screenshot to an image file; the user is required to paste the image into a separate imaging program (such as Microsoft Paint which is built-in) for saving.
Keep the window open showing the banner you have posted and press Alt + Print Scrn (button on your keyboard found near the function keys) to capture the active window.
(1) Select Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint. The Paint application opens. (or use your preferred Graphics Program like Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw etc.) (2) Press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot into Paint. If you receive a message that says: “The image in the clipboard is larger than the bitmap. Would you like the bitmap enlarged?”, click Yes. (3) Select File > Save As. The Save As dialog opens. (4) In the Save in field, select a location to save the file, such as your Desktop. (5) In the File name field, type in a name for the file. (6) In the Save as type field, select .gif or .jpg. (7) Click Save.
ON A PC (Windows Vista) On Vista you can Use Snipping Tool . Please follow the instructions in the previous link to utilize the Windows Vista Snipping Tool
ON A MAC Pressing Command-Shift-3 takes a screenshot of the entire screen, and Command-Shift-4 takes a screenshot of a chosen area of the screen or if you press Space afterwards you can choose a window on the screen to individually screenshot. These images are saved to the desktop, but if you hold down the control key with the rest of the keyboard shortcut, the pictures are copied to the clipboard instead. These shortcuts also work in Mac OS Classic
GOOD LUCK! SEE YOU AT THE SHOW!
